Local Jewelry Makers Display During ArtSpan SF Open Studios
Sterling silver O necklace and chain by Kristiana Spaulding Druzy rings by Claudia Kussano The blue crystal necklace by Phylis Johnson-Silk features sterling silver findings and a sterling silver clasp with inlaid turquoise. Along with pre-Halloween costume drama, there’s one fashion-minded inevitability you can count on October in San Francisco: lots of lovely locally-made jewelry on display during ArtSpan Open Studios , an annual event inviting the public into the City’s many artists’ studios over a five-weekend stretch. And while fine art in the form of paintings, sculpture and photography dominate the offerings, there are numerous San Francisco jewelry designers showing their work each weekend. It’s a chance to step inside the maker’s workspace, chat a little about the process behind the pieces and purchase directly from designers.

Is Renaissance Wax Safe to Use for Jewelry?
Tweet Renaissance wax polish was developed by the boffins (English slang for scientists) at the British Museum in the 1950’s. The natural waxes used for conserving museum exhibits unfortunately also contained acids which over time compromised the finishes of historic furniture collections. So they came up with a new type of microcrystalline wax refined from crude oil which solved the problem. Since then other micro-crystalline waxes have appeared on the market and they are used to protect a wide range of materials including metals. It’s fine for museum exhibits of jewelry, armor and so forth but is it fine for jewelry that’s worn and for the artisan who is working with it? Many artisans are already using renaissance wax to keep their metal jewelry shiny longer. They apply a very small amount and then buff the jewelry with a soft cloth. I was curious as keeping my display jewelry tarnish free is such a chore. So I bought some. Then I looked more carefully at what it actually contained.

4 Creative Ways to Store Your Jewelry at College
As the start of another school year approaches, I’ve been thinking about how to store all the stuff I need to take to school, especially my large jewelry collection. One pair of earrings may be small, but it’s amazing how much space you need for all your earrings, and necklaces, and bracelets, andthe list goes on! I like to be able to see everything at one time so I can grab what I need and go on busy mornings, so easy viewing has always been a priority for me. Jewelry boxes are great, but when’s the last time you took the time to dig through yours when you’re almost late for class? True to my DIY spirit, I’ve never splurged on any formal jewelry holders, but I’ve crafted and re-purposed some of my own quite effectively, mostly from thrifted items. I have also spent the last six years selling handmade jewelry at craft fairs, so I’ve really put these ideas to the test on the road! Below, I’ll show you 4 creative methods to both store and display your jewelry collection at college

Most expensive jewelry sold at auction
Megha Chaturvedi: Most expensive jewelry sold at auction Most expensive jewelry sold at various auctions round the globe Most expensive jewelry auctions are known to feature colorless or colored diamonds, modern and period jewelry and varied precious stones. Jewelry that usually symbolizes love and gratitude has transformed into a symbol of money and luxury. If you are a connoisseur of refined and elegant jewelry, you must be knowing that today you can find a variety of expensive pieces designed to meet a wide range of tastes. Today not only the celebs are seen wearing such extravagant jewelry at the red carpet, but the uber rich and elites who flock the auctions spend hugely to fill their bags with precious stones and gorgeous jewelry. The jewelry, usually, includes a range of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and anklets. With the most expensive auctions displaying the jewelry ranges, buying and gifting a diamond to your beloved has become old fashioned.

Craftastic: DIY Jewelry Displays
What you’ll need: Cardboard Paper or Cardstock Scissors or Craft Knife Glue or Doublestick Tape Paint or fabric For Necklace Bust: 1. Draw a template on paper or cardstock, I made several of these so made my template on cardstock and it has held up very well. Cut out. 2. Trace your pattern onto your cardboard. Cut out. It’s up to you how to cover it, you can spray paint it, brush paint, or cover it with fabric or felt. I’ve done all three and they all look good. This example was brush painted with black acrylic craft paint. 3. To make the stand, cut a strip of cardboard and score three times: 1/4 inch up from one edge, 3/4 inches up from that and then half way up the remaining distance. Fold inward and attach small flap to the edge that folds down to create a triangle. Attatch to the back of your bust with glue or tape. For Bracelet/ Ring Display: 1. Trace your hand with fingers splayed and up your arm a bit onto your cardboard and cut out. Paint.

Men’s Jewelry Is Hot!
Twins are an opportunity for a man to show his employment, ethnicity, hobbies or anything else about himself, while showing his good taste, elegance. It is an opportunity to display fine jewelry that no one should overlook, especially a man wearing a French cuff shirt (I think). Bracelets A few years ago, men bracelets are uncommon, but times have changed, men are bracelets! Gold bracelets .
