When I woke up this morning I saw the gold ring with my Father’s initials. RAB and it as many meanings. The RAB was self-educated, in those days they started work at the age of 13. He did not study Torah, he studied trade union law and the classics. I wasn’t much older when I started work at the age of 15, as a messenger for a legal practice. The sign of the RAB can mean many things, it can relate to ordination, the work of a scholar and teacher. A teacher of the law and originally it was to do with the Sanhedrin, the legal authority of the court where the judgement is given. The RAB was also a magistrate, when I saw the signet ring, I then saw the bible and the ring is the RAB’s signature. The book of Ester mentions the king’s signet ring.

Agence France-Presse/Getty Images Higher gold prices are helping to keep Korea’s consumer price index — which includes the price of gold rings — above the country’s target band. The Bank of Korea’s move in July to add gold to its reserves for the first time in 13 years looked like a smart diversification play. Sure, the metal had a terrible September, but you wouldn’t know that from a trawl of jewelry shops in Seoul. In releasing consumer price index data today, the government said that prices of gold rings were 36% higher in September than in the same month last year, the biggest jump since 2005. Gold price gains may be good news for the BOK’s reserves, but they’re also a headache because they’ve been having an outsized effect on the nation’s main inflation index. The government said that the surge in the prices of gold rings were to blame for keeping inflation above the BOK’s target band of 2%-4% for a ninth month in a row last month.
